Square Stage


Papa Yaw Acheampong, known as DJ Pop is an American recording artist, producer and DJ. Born on August 6, 1998. where he lived in Gaithersburg Maryland and moved to Germantown during his High school days where he attended Northwest High School. He played Football and ran track for championship teams. Going into college he enrolled in West Virginia University with the Major, Fashion Design Merchandise. Throughout his freshman year he was well known around campus which eventually lead to his DJ career.

     He started as a bouncer at Club Ikon where he was security for many performers including DMV artist WillThaRapper and others. Moving forward he did many house parties and game day parties as well for the remainder of his freshman year. His second year he started to DJ at LUX nightclub a powerhouse at WVU and all the other clubs came to follow. He as well changed his major to Management Information Systems.

     In December he did his first concert with Roc Nation's own Q Da Fool, powered by Enlightened Entertainment at L8 Lounge in DC. In the New Year of 2018 he started to residential DJ at Blaze Night Club. This led up to his Second huge concert with Pennsylvania sensation Lil Skies at Mainstage in West Virginia, Powered by DJ Yemi. While doing these concerts he also hosted projects with Maryland Rapper Simba, DC's own Fame Reek and many more.

     During the Summer of 2018 he returned home to work with Fat Trel and DJ Ratchet at NightShift Baltimore powered by Royal Exclusives.This led up to the start of his Fashion career with photoshoots with upcoming brands such as Global Clothing and DKS Apparel. After this he became exclusively partnered up with Enlightened Entertainment, an Entertainment group in Prince Gorges MD. Sterling Davis, DJ Pop's manager is the CEO of the entertainment company. After a few events in DC the company, and DJ Pop traveled back to Morgantown to do another concert. "Mountaineer Fest" which headlined Gucci Mane's artist and Atlanta native Hoodrich Pablo Juan.

     During the stretch DJ Pop connected again with DKS Apparel and signed his first contract and was officially endorsed by DKS Apparel Brand. This opening up many doors and giving more support. DJ Pop plans on doing many more concerts, tours and festivals with huge artist and DJs consistently. His goal is to sell out Madison Square Garden with him headlining the whole concert. He also plans to start a brand of his own in the near future so stay tuned!
